 Untitled, 1953 by Mark Rothko Mark Rothko, a Contemporary American Abstract Expressionist Painter, who had multi-cultural inspiring aspects within Russia, Portland and America as well as growing up in a social unrested environment, Rothko has developed the rectangular painting with using fields of colour and light as his mature style to express the human emotions and to represent the metaphysical meaning.
This year's Autumn and Winter collection, Paul Smith is inspired by this abstract painting, which has combined Mark Rothko's experimental use of colour into this season's design, and interestingly characterise each garment.
